Publication: Reviving Aleppo

We are thrilled to announce the publication of Reviving Aleppo initiated and edited by our members Rahaf Orabi and Fabian Thiel, now available through Springer Nature, in the series “Cities, Heritage and Transformation”. This book is the culmination of extensive work, intense reviews and contributions from the 2021 online conference.

APTI Workshop on Standardization

The Association for Preservation Technology International (APTI) recently held a workshop on standardization from June 11-14, 2024, in Ithaca, New York. APTI, a global organization dedicated to promoting the best practices for the preservation of historic structures, brought together experts from various disciplines to discuss the future of heritage documentation. 

13th CIPA International Summer School in Rhodes

This year’s Summer School attracted 39 participants from 22 countries, including Italy, Spain, Germany, Canada, and others. The participants came from diverse professional backgrounds and age groups, reflecting the broad appeal of the school in advancing knowledge on heritage conservation techniques.

CIPA Spring School on Heritage Documentation

CIPA is happy to announce its 8th Heritage Documentation Spring School on “Cultural Heritage 3D Surveying and Modelling” which will take place from 23-29 march 2023 in Montecatini Terme, Italy. As with the past editions, this summer school will consist of theoretical lectures (on photogrammetry/computer vision, laser scanning, photography and total station survey) and practical work, in the field and in the lab.

6th CIPA summer school

CIPA is happy to announce its 6th Heritage Documentation Summer School on “Cultural Heritage 3D Surveying and Modelling” which will take place from 14-20 July 2019 in Gyeongju, Republic of Korea. As with the past five editions, this summer school will consist of theoretical lectures (on photogrammetry/computer vision, laser scanning, photography and total station survey) and practical work, in the field and in the lab.

7th summer school on surveying cultural heritage

From the 23rd of July to the 1st of August 2018, the Polytechnic University of Milan (Italy) organises its 7th summer school on surveying cultural heritage. This course, which takes place at the Sacred Mount Calvary of Domodossola in Italy, will allow students to get into contact with the practical and theoretical aspects of documenting and managing cultural heritage. Although this summer school is not organised by CIPA, many of the tutors also teach during the annual CIPA summer schools.
