4th CIPA summer school
/in News, Summer schoolsCIPA is happy to announce its 4th Heritage Documentation Summer School on “Cultural Heritage 3D Surveying and Modelling” which will take place from 12 -18 July 2017 in Pafos, Cyprus. As with the past three editions, this summer school will consist of theoretical lectures (on photogrammetry/computer vision, laser scanning, photography and total station survey) and practical work, in the field and in the lab.

Logo winners known!
/in Competition, NewsThe CIPA logo competition, which was approved by the CIPA Executive Board during the last meeting in Prague on July 2016, was formally launched on October 2016. Three months later, the CIPA Executive Board is pleased to announce that 21 candidates have participated to this competition and that 31 proposals have been put to the discretion of the evaluation committee.
Since no logo fully met all the expectations, the CIPA Executive Board decided to select the 3 best logos and asked a professional graphic designer to come forward with a new proposal based on these results. Even if the new CIPA logo is not created yet, the Executive Board still wants to reward the following 3 winners with a free registration for the next CIPA 2017 Symposium (Ottawa, Canada, Aug 28 to Sept 1, 2017):

Thesis awards winners known!
/in Competition, NewsThe CIPA thesis award competition, which was approved by the CIPA Executive Board during the last meeting in Prague on July 2016, was formally launched on September 2016. Three months later, fifteen master and seventeen Ph.D. theses were submitted. After thoroughly evaluating all the submission, CIPA is very happy to announce the following winners:
Arnadi Murtiyoso – Acquisition and Processing Protocols for UAV Images. 3D Modeling of Historical Buildings using Photogrammetry
Susana Del Pozo Aguilera – Multispectral Imaging for the Analysis of Materials and Pathologies in Civil Engineering, Constructions and Natural Spaces
Both winners will be invited to prepare a paper for the next CIPA 2017 Conference and orally present their outstanding work.
5th INTBAU International Annual Event
/in Conferences, NewsFrom 5-6 July 2017, the 5th INTBAU International Annual Event will take place in Milan, Italy. The event is organised by the School an the Design Department of Politecnico di Milano and will investigate methodologies of representation, communication and valorisation of Historic Urban Landscape and cultural heritage, but also place making and local identity enhancement.

Thesis awards
/in Competition, NewsAs one of its core activities, CIPA Heritage Documentation is promoting and supporting young researchers in the field of Cultural Heritage. CIPA is, therefore, offering support for one MSc and one PhD thesis related to heritage documentation.
If you are an author of a Master thesis or of a PhD thesis discussed in the period January 2015 – 30 September 2016, concerning (totally or partially) the documentation of cultural heritage, you are encouraged to send a PDF version of your thesis and a motivation letter to Fulvio Rinaudo no later than 15th December 2016.
The best MSc and PhD theses will be selected by the CIPA Executive Board and the two winners (1 MSc and 1 PhD) will be awarded with € 500 and invited to orally present their works during the next CIPA 2017 Symposium.

/in Competition, NewsCIPA Heritage documentation is looking for a new logo. If you want to join the competition, please prepare an attractive and cool logo and send it to Tania Landes no later than December 15, 2016.
The selected best logo will be presented at the next CIPA 2017 Symposium in Ottawa, Canada. The winner will receive a free registration for the 2017 symposium in Ottawa and a grant of € 500 to cover travel expenses.
